The Mitas E09 is rated as a 20% road and 80% off road tyre. This tyre looks like a knobby tyre. It is not quite a MX tyre rather a hard rubber compound thick heavy duty off road tyre that is safe and predictable on the road. These tyres have smaller knobs and a wider knob gap when compared to the Mitas E10,s. They last well on the road but are a little noisy when used continuously at high speed. The off road grip you get in all conditions is why you use the E09. Some sizes are Dakar version tyres which have heavy duty carcass and side walls for durability and puncture resistance.
