The Shinko 520DC is Shinko,s new duel compound knobby tyre. Duel compound tyres have been around for a long time in the road bike world and are now available for off road riders (Kenda also have a duel compound knobby tyre). The centre compound of this tyre is the gummy compound found on the cheater range of tyres. The side or shoulder section of the tyre are made with the firmer compound rubber from the original 520A. The firmer side compound help with drive and acceleration while exiting turns. The knob pattern of the tyre resembles the old Yokohama dirt digger tyre from many years back.
